Sterling Jr, a math tutor and lifelong Jeopardy! fan [R.I.P. Alex Trebek], developed a passion for trivia, particularly in black history and general knowledge, during his transition from private to public school. Introduced to the Black History Bowl in middle school, he joined and secured 2nd place. In high school, his team achieved Top 4 in the 2015 Miami Gardens Heritage Bowl, founded by former Mayor Oliver Gilbert, III.
In 2022, Sterling Jr aimed to explore Black history from a business aspect. By early 2023, inspired by news coverage of an incident in AP African American Studies and the Florida Department of Education, he dedicated himself to advancing and advocating educational causes with an enriched academic perspective. Currently, he is focusing on building a diverse team to deliver high-quality, authentic educational content spanning Black history and a broader spectrum of racial and cultural heritages through trivia.

The Colorful Picture Company
Black Cards of History Inc. was born out of a passion for celebrating Black heritage in a way that resonates with people of all ages. With an innovative approach, we aim to make learning Black history engaging and accessible through trivia and interactive content. By promoting understanding and racial equality, we are inspired to share stories that too often go untold, empowering people from all backgrounds to connect with Black history from a fresh, dynamic perspective since some Departments of Education declared the class will either "concert on potential indoctrination into a political agenda" or even "lack education merit".
Our mission is to promote Black history awareness and foster racial equality by creating educational experiences that are both fun and impactful for kids and adults. We seek to engage students, educators, and communities by providing trivia-based learning tools that challenge perspectives, encourage thoughtful conversation, and broaden the understanding of Black contributions throughout history. We aim to bridge the gap between history and entertainment, bringing Black history into classrooms and beyond.
We envision a world where Black history is universally recognized as an integral part of global history, taught openly in schools, and embraced by people of all races. Despite current challenges like the rejection of an African American Studies course and restrictive policies in certain schools, we remain committed to breaking down these barriers. Our goal is to see Black history celebrated every day [and not only during February], with people using our trivia to spark conversations, deepen their knowledge, and build a more inclusive future.
